Is it a banjo? Is it a ukulele? The answer is yes — to both questions! The Luna Banjolele 8†Ukulele features a clear head on its top like a banjo, yet it’s strung like a concert ukulele. This Banjolele's maple back and sides give it a hearty snap, while its mahogany neck and smooth purple heart fingerboard boast a comfortable 15.5†soprano scale. The Banjolele’s distinctive tone is sure to set you apart from the pack, as will the gorgeous etched patterns on its body. If you want to add variety to your ukulele collection, you’ll definitely want to check out the Luna Banjolele.
Thanks to the etched patterns on the Banjolele's body, the Luna Banjolele looks as distinctive as it sounds. These etchings are a tribute to traditional Hawaiian quilt designs. Over 200 years ago, missionaries brought woven fabrics and steel needles to Hawaii and taught its people how to create patchwork quilts, to which the Hawaiians added their own special flair. The Banjolele’s design was inspired by the kalo (taro plant), as it plays an important role in Hawaiian culture, mythology, and cuisine. Everybody who has seen a Banjolele here at Sweetwater has done a double take — it’s really eye catching!
