The DC shorthorn line was first introduced in '59 as a more streamlined alternative to the popular U2 series. Even though it featured a new body design, it still came equipped with the U2's twin lipstick pickups that were so beloved for their one-of-a-kind tone. These pickups are made with a coil wrapped around an Alnico VI magnet and then wrapped in tape, which gives them a vintage sound that harkens back to the early days of rock. With a 3-way pickup selector, bridge and neck volume and tone controls, you will have lots of options for dialing in your tone.
