The Danelectro Convertible is a classic hollowbody electric-acoustic guitar that first appeared in 1959. It is made from Danelectro's signature hardboard/plywood, which makes it lightweight and resonant. The bolt-on maple neck is cut to a "C" profile and is beautifully responsive and playable. The Convertible has a Piezo bridge pickup and a '56 soundhole single-coil lipstick pickup, which gives you the best of both worlds as you move between a more acoustic sound and a more electric sound.

The Convertible's '56 lipstick single-coil in the soundhole is a passive pickup with a coil wrapped around an Alnico VI magnet and then wrapped in tape. This pickup harkens back to the early days of rock-n-roll with a vintage, jangly, midrange punch and treble kick—ideal for rockabilly, country, or just good old rock-n-roll. The somewhat warmer Piezo bridge pickup complements the lipstick nicely as you switch back and forth. Or, when you are feeling adventurous—and we highly recommend adventure—you can combine the pickups with the "blend" control on the Convertible. Master volume and tone controls also give you additional tone-shaping options.
