The Tattoo Spruce Concert Ukulele from Luna is an amazing instrument that combines great design with incredible tone. The Tattoo Spruce features a mahogany body with spruce top for rich, full tone. A mahogany neck with walnut fingerboard provides stellar playability and response, great for exploring new and interesting uke chord patterns up and down the neck. The Tattoo Spruce Concert Uke's design is based on traditional Hawaiian body ornamentation. These geometric patterns all represent the island world of the early Polynesians: waves, fish, birds, and the sun. This particular design is patterned after the Hawaiian turtle, or "honu," a symbol of longevity and endurance.
Luna was co-founded by Yvonne de Villiers, an accomplished stained-glass artist. The company's goal is to design instruments that capture a unique artistic vision as well as great playability. The design on the Tattoo Mahogany is representative of that vision and is a truly unique visual delight.
