This is the Impact Two Monolight Softbox Kit (120 VAC). The kit includes two monolights with reflectors, air cushioned light stands, 24 x 32" softboxes, and a sync cord (mini plug to PC). Each basic monolight in this kit has a digital readout coupled with its four-stop power variator. It accepts S-type monolight reflectors and head accessories. The VSD160 has cushioned touch-pad function control buttons. Power is adjustable in 1/10 stop increments, from full to 1/8 power. Its model light intensity may be controlled coupled to, or independent from the strobe power levels you select.

The Impact VSD160 is a good unit for occasional use by a hobbyist, or beginning professional. It is a good choice for building a system - its built-in optical slave fires the flash without wires, from the light of any other flash system. Its flashtube is good for tens of thousands of pops, and is replaceable.

The Impact Digital Monolight - 160W/s (120VAC) as part of the VSD Series of monolights is proof that a 160 watt/second monolight does not need to be expensive. The VSD160 provides enough stored power to light a head-shot portrait or small still-life setup. It has features found on monolights that cost twice as much.

The VSD160 has cushioned touch-pad function control buttons. Power is adjustable in 1/10 stop increments, from full to 1/8 power. The VSD160 is available as part of several complete lighting kits. Two more powerful versions of this light are the VSD300 and VSD400.

The Impact 24 x 32" Softbox includes a Bowens-type speed ring, so that it is directly compatible with current Bowens and Impact monolights (except the 100EX).

When compared to larger softboxes, this size will provide a light quality which is more spectral, with a faster gradation from highlight to shadow areas. 24 x 32" is best-suited for a 1/2 length portrait of 1 or 2 people, or a product shot of 2 or 3 smaller-than-a-breadbox items.

The softbox features a beaded silver interior, and its front face can be removed for easy access to the light and the interior baffle from the front. Also, it provides the option of shooting without the front face for an increased output and more specular quality of light.

This aluminum Impact Air-Cushioned Light Stand rises to a height of 8' and folds down to 29.6". The stand has sure-twist section locks and 4 sections and will support up to 8 lb.

If you forget to tighten any section with your light mounted, the light slowly descends, thanks to the air-cushioned action. This useful feature saves equipment and fingers from harm during busy photo sessions.
