JBL EON: A Personal PA with Tons of Personality

This B&H Kit combines the JBL EON ONE Compact All-in-One Rechargeable Personal PA with a handheld dynamic vocal microphone, a mic stand, a speaker stand, and a speaker stand carrying bag to create a professional portable PA system for the singer/songwriter.

The JBL EON ONE Compact is an all-in-one rechargeable personal PA system well suited for singer-songwriters, fitness instructors, corporate speaking engagements, and educational presentations. The self-powered speaker sports an 8" woofer and 1" tweeter, which combine to offer a frequency response of 37.5 Hz to 20 kHz at a respectable 112 dB SPL. The enclosure is lightweight at under 20 lb and features a handle for ease in transport.

The rear of the unit offers two combo XLR-1/4" inputs, one 1/4" Hi-Z input for instruments, and a stereo 3.5mm TRS AUX input for connecting portable playback devices. There are dedicated level controls for each of the channels and channel four also offers Bluetooth audio streaming. Phantom power is offered on channels one and two for connecting high-quality condenser microphones. A one-touch ducking feature automatically lowers music volume when speech input is detected, ensuring every word is heard clearly. The unit also provides a 1/4" pass-through output for connecting additional EON ONE Compacts, while a 3.5mm headphone output allows for private monitoring for practice sessions and managing presets.

The internal lithium-ion battery can be charged from within the speaker in 2.5 hours with no signal and provides a playback time of up to 6 hours at full volume or 12 hours at lower volumes. The battery is replaceable, allowing you to use an external optional charger and battery for continuous operation.

The JBL Compact Connect app allows for quick setup by selecting and controlling effects and presets right from a phone or tablet. Broadcast Bluetooth provides the ability to sync and control up to four EON ONE Compact units from one single source for music playback. The control app offers a variety of presets for different applications, allowing the speaker to be used as a monitor or in vertical orientations. Effects include an 8-band EQ, reverb, delay, and chorus for polishing your sound. The JBL EON ONE ships with a rechargeable battery and a power cord.

The M-70 Dynamic Handheld Microphone from Polsen is a classic-style dynamic microphone that features durable all-metal construction and a cardioid polar pattern. Built for the rigors of the road or stage, the M-70 microphone features a wide frequency response, off-axis rejection, and focuses on capturing sound directly in front of the capsule for voice and speech applications. Additionally, the M-70's frequency response is tailored for vocals and is designed to make your voice clear and easy to understand, whether you're in a singing or speaking venue. The microphone outputs a balanced signal via its XLR output connector and comes with its own balanced XLR to 1/4" cable.

The Auray MS-5230F Tripod Microphone Stand with Fixed Boom features durable, steel construction. The 31.5" boom arm allows you to angle the mic however you need it. An ergonomic twist-action clutch helps adjust the height of the stand, while the reinforced tripod base and nonslip feet keep it firmly and sturdily in place. The Auray MS-5230F mic stand collapses for easy transport.

The LS40 from Samson is a lightweight telescoping speaker stand with a tripod base. The stand features a rugged steel construction, and a sleek black finish and is ideal for use with the Samson Expedition Series Portable PAs such as the Escape, Express, XP106, and XP106w.

With a standard 1 3/8-inch pole adapter, the LS40 stand can fit most PA speakers. It features a safety locking latch and is adjustable for up to 4.75' in height, but can handle enclosures that weigh up to 44 pounds.

The Speaker Stand Bag from Auray is a spacious, durable bag designed to hold and protect two speaker stands, six microphone stands, or miscellaneous hardware for DJs, bands, and engineers between gigs, parties, and special events. The 52” rugged nylon bag holds stands up to 51” in length.

The smooth, coated interior won’t mar the finish of your stands. Dual large-gauge zippers provide easy and fast access to the bag’s contents. Webbed nylon handles with a padded touch-fastener wrap make carrying the bag, even with one hand, simple and balanced.

The black Kopul Premium Performance 3000 Series XLR Male to XLR Female Microphone Cable (6') is designed to be an extremely quiet and flexible cable that is ideal for the most demanding live sound and performance applications. The cable is engineered to be durable and provide protection against EMI, RFI, and static noise. While the cable's color-coding affords the ability to quickly differentiate between multiple connections on stage, it provides a pleasant aesthetic quality at the same time.

Premium Performance 3000 Series cables are made from 24-AWG OFC copper wire that's wrapped with PE insulation and a conductive PVC inner shield. A cotton-yarn inner layer helps reduce electrostatic and microphonic noise. The 95% dual-spiral shielding makes the cable resistant to EMI and RFI noise. The Neutrik XX silver connectors provide a high level of connectivity, and all the solder connections are shrink-wrapped for protection.
