From the western twang of the pedal steel to the ominous depths of death metal, Peavey has had a hand in shaping the sound of guitar-driven music for well over a half-century. Now, in a series of compact pedals, Peavey gifts players with one-to-one re-creations of the famed preamp sections of classic Peavey amps. Admittedly so, this Decade reboot caught Peavey by surprise. The original Peavey Decade amp found a new resurgence (and heightened price point on used-gear sites) after Josh Homme, guitarist and founding member of Queens of the Stone Age, innocuously name-checked the amp when answering a question regarding QOTSA's distinctive sound. Peavey subsequently partnered with Josh on the Peavey Decade Too amp, which led to duplicating the results for this Decade preamp pedal.
