Designed as both a panoramic and gimbal head, the PG-01 is recommended for users wishing to capture single or multi-row panoramas with non-collared lenses. It can also be used as a small gimbal support for cameras with medium telephoto lenses, or in layman's terms, lenses no larger than a traditional 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. With a load capacity of 8 lb, Really Right Stuff suggests using this head exclusively for mirrorless cameras or small DSLR's; users with larger gear should consider similar heads with higher weight capacities. The PG-01's design consists of two arms that control the rotation and swing of the cameras position. The base arm is connected directly to the integrated base rotator, which features a laser-engraved 360° scale for accurate positioning when capturing single or multi-row panoramas. The vertical arm, which mounts to the base arm via Arca-type clamp, may be positioned with the assistance of a laser-engraved millimeter scale. The vertical arm also features an adjustable rotator with engraved 360° markings and an Arca-type clamp for mounting and dismounting your camera, extension plate, or nodal slide.
