The material core design prevents mushrooming of the striking head. Tools are tempered to a hardness of 54 to 58 HRC - not just at the tip but throughout the entire length of the tool. Forged from top quality hardened chrome vanadium steel. Cold chisel features a hand ground sharpened edge designed to cut and shear cold metal. Striking head is turned and chamfered. Center punches are used to create permanent marks or locations when disassembling engine parts. For exact marking of a drill point and guidance of the drill bit. Pin punches are used to install and drive pins out of holes. All edges are rounded to prevent damage to the workpiece.
