Insulated for up to 1000 V AC and 1500 V DC
Six distinct work zones
Flared handles allow for better control
TEKTON insulated pliers have insulated handles to protect against electrical shock for voltages up to 1000 V AC and 1500 V DC. They are individually tested and VDE certified in accordance with IEC 60900. The stout jaws on the insulated combination pliers offer six distinct work zones: a wire cutter for fast, clean cuts, flat tips for even clamping, hex-grip teeth for turning hex bolts, coarse teeth for an aggressive bite, fine teeth for controlled gripping, and a wire groove for holding a single wire. The wire cutter has two opposing knives that meet in the center and are induction-hardened to 55 - 59 HRC. The jaws have a unique set of teeth that positively engage small to medium-sized hex fasteners, similar to a 12-point box end wrench. The jaws have a dedicated wire-holding groove behind the tips, allowing you to firmly grip and bend a single wire without marring. The tops of the handles are flared to guard against live wires and also to give your hand a positive stop to push against, allowing better control with a looser grip. The body of the pliers is made of drop-forged steel that's oil-hardened to 43 - 45 HRC and enamel-coated. The cutting knives are induction-hardened to 55 - 59 HRC. The yellow handle core is made of hard polypropylene and the red handle overmold is made of soft, grippy thermoplastic elastomer (TPE).
