The Halder Simplex mallet is the signature hammer in the Halder line. This variation of the patented Simplex hammer features a lightweight aluminum housing. The aluminum housing makes this mallet very lightweight, perfect for more delicate and precise work but its rugged design allows it to deliver powerful blows if needed. The split housing allows it to be taken apart and the components can be replaced when worn or damaged. The face inserts consist of a hard durable plastic material we referred to as Superplastic and a soft blue non-marring rubber. The faces are held in place by pressure, not screwed in. This allows for a much greater wear area and longer life. The Simplex hammer can be replaced and modified to use several other face materials for different applications. This aluminum Simplex with Superplastic and blue rubber faces are excellent for a number of jobs including finish carpentry, trim work, furniture building, craft and hobby work, wood and laminate flooring and tile installation, just to name a few. The Simplex features the highest quality acacia hard wood handle which is protected by an extra-large over-strike area formed by the housing.
